The Network is a challenging and active team building event that takes
your group away from your event venue. Or we can simply meet up at a
suitable starting point. Network is ideal for a team that wants to have
fun but also with the opportunity to think about how effectively it
uses and shares information.
Working in subteams, comprising 3 to 5 participants, the objective of
The Network is to exchange and combine information with other subteams
in order to locate and open a hidden treasure chest. After a briefing
and planning session we transport your team to a starting point usually
a forest or other attractive area of countryside with a good network of
footpaths leading off into the great unknown! The route to the treasure chest is revealed by a complex flow diagram
known as "The Network". As well as the chest itself, the teams will
need to locate and recover keys and combination codes to open the
chest, again using The Network as a guide.
Each subteam is in contact with all others using radio handsets. After
some initial progress groups usually begin to encounter difficulties,
and it rapidly becomes apparent that no one group has sufficient
information to make real progress; only by sharing information and
collaborating effectively can the final goal be reached. A number of team challenges will be encountered at rendezvous
locations. As well as being great fun to overcome, these exercises
require teamwork and problemsolving skills.
Although The Network is an active and participative event, the
challenge is primarily directed at the team and team members' ability
to work effectively together. The physical challenge of the event can
be adapted to suit just about all levels. We can build-in roles for
participants who want to be actively involved but in a role requiring
little or no physical activity.
After locating the treasure and claiming the prize, we can if you wish
return to your event venue (or a suitable pub!) where our event staff
can facilitate an informal review to assist participants in fully
understanding the experience they have been through and identifying key
learning points. We focus on positive aspects of how the team operates
and can move forward. We can provide The Network at
